||The oil platforms are large structures with a large amount of control loops based on
PI controllers. Over time, even when they are tuned correctly at the beginning of its operation,
their performance deteriorates due the changes in the dynamics of the processes, making it
important to evaluate the control loop and tuning PI controllers when necessary. In this paper
we propose a combination of the CPSO and GPSO algorithms to tune PI controllers in a
primary separation system of a primary platform. The tuning and optimization are performed
through the control loop evaluation indices IAE, ISE, ITAE, ITSE and Goodhart.
